On a mission from God

THERE'S something slightly different about this year's series of PILGRIMAGE, which continues tonight (BBC2, 9pm).

I don't mean the fact there's a new bunch taking part, nor that they're following a different path (this time it's Pilgrimage: The Road Through The Alps).

No, I'm talking about the participants' status.

For the first time since this series became an Easter TV fixture, back in 2018, all the people taking part are celebrities.

"Sorry, what?" I hear you cry. "Surely that's always been the case? You're talking poppycock, Mike, and not for the first time, I might add."

But actually I'm not. Not on this occasion.
