Officer who rammed calf twice 'removed from frontline duties'

DISTURBING online images of a patrol car being driven at a runaway calf has led to action being taken against the police driver.
The vehicle was filmed twice ramming the terrified animal after she was reported loose on a residential road.
The footage of the incident at Staines-upon-Thames in Surrey on Friday evening triggered fury when it went viral online.
Deputy Chief Constable Nev Kemp said yesterday: "I appreciate the distress our handling of this incident has caused and will ensure that it is thoroughly and diligently investigated."
He said referrals have been made to the force's internal Professional Standards Department and the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
DCC Kemp added: "The officer driving the police car has been removed from frontline duties pending the outcome of investigations.
