Obesity sparks rise in liver cancer cases

LIVER cancer is set to double by 2050, partly because of rising obesity, experts have warned.
The proportion of cases linked to being very overweight are expected to increase from 5% to 11%. Meanwhile, new liver cancers around the world are set to rise from 0.87 million in 2022 to 1.52 million in the next 25 years.
Researchers from the Lancet Commission on Liver Cancer are calling for more action to stop preventable cases.
