'My husband's face lit up when I told him I was quitting Vera'

ACTRESS Brenda Blethyn says her husband Michael's "face lit up" when she said hit crime drama Vera will end - and she can spend summer at home.

Brenda, who is quitting the ITV series' iconic detective role after 14 years, also revealed the secret to a happy marriage is separate bathrooms and spaces to watch TV.

The star, 78, said: "I suddenly realised last year that I haven't spent a summer at home for 14 years and maybe it was time to think about that.
