Mother's drink and drug-fuelled murder of 18-month-old Alfie

A WOMAN and her ex-boyfriend's first thoughts were for themselves after they murdered her 18-month-old son while high on cocaine and whisky, a judge said.
Alfie Phillips died on November 28, 2020, with more than 70 wounds and traces of cocaine in his body.
Sian Hedges, 27, and Jack Benham, 35, tried to cover up what happened but were sentenced to life by Maidstone Crown Court yesterday.
Hedges was given a minimum term of 19 years and Benham 23 years.
Alfie died with a "myriad of bruises", broken ribs, arms and a leg, in the overnight attack which happened during lockdown at Benham's caravan in Hernhill, near Faversham, Kent.
