THE Policing Minister failed to offer reassurance over fears of a fresh crime wave when questioned about plans to release even more prisoners early.

Asked about Labour’s review ambitions, Sarah Jones said sentencing was “very much tied to our policing system” and that the Government wanted to “make sure we're doing policing out in our communities, tackling crime in our neighbourhoods”.
