Migrants' prayers are answered

RI WONDER if police have been searching for suspected Clapham chemical attacker Abdul Ezedi in churches? After all, Ezedi is only in this country at all because he found God, right? À late (and not-at-all suspicious!) conversion to Christianity won him his third bid for asylum here.

So this God-fearing mortal would surely seek sanctuary in a church, no? Presumably, his soul is already shriven after priestly confessions to committing two sex offences here one indecent exposure, one assault - which should have seen him on a plane home years ago.

So why wouldn't the follower of Christ head for the nearest CoE, Anglican, or Catholic church? Unless, of course, his conversion was about as sincere as the ones Jesus succinctly describes in Matthew 25: "Outwardly religious but marked by a peculiar callousness." Ezedi may have been picked up by the time you read this, unless he is:

1) Deep in prayer in some religious retreat.

2) Continuing to be sheltered by secular sidekicks.
