Make more use of your conservatory
Daily Express
|November 29, 2025
FOR many of us, a conservatory is the most underused room in the house.
-
A well-insulated conservatory can open up a new world, a living space in the garden that you become part of. Yet what so few of us consider, is that while sitting under a glass or polycarbonate roof can be idyllic when conditions are just right, the weather is far from perfect, leaving only a small window to enjoy the space. Under the summer sun it can become uncomfortably hot, and when it turns chilly — like the recent freezing snap — it often becomes a room you avoid altogether.
Add the fact that glass gets grimy, polycarbonate yellows, glare becomes a nuisance, heat escapes quickly, and the panels are difficult to keep clean and damage free, and it’s easy to see why so many conservatories fall out of use.
