'Madman' sworn in as Argentina's president

THE controversial new President of Argentina who has vowed to get back the Falkland Islands was sworn in yesterday.

Right-wing populist Javier Milei, also known as "el Loco" or the Madman, has insisted Britain returning the islands is "non-negotiable" and the territory is Argentine.

The eccentric economist, 53, came to prominence as a TV pundit and pulled off a massive upset when he won last month's presidential run-off.

But the former tantric sex coach, who uses a medium to communicate with his dead dog for advice on political matters, is already backing away from pre-election promises to replace the peso with the US dollar and restore better times to the South American country.
