When reality star Kim Kardashian, 44, announced the latest innovation to come from her brand Skims - a face-sculpting wrap - many experts around the world, both in the beauty and body image sphere, wrung their hands in despair.

Shapewear for the face... while we sleep... was this finally a step too far?

Made from the brand's signature compression fabric, the wrap promises to sculpt and support the jawline and lower face while the wearer snoozes.

Of course it sold out within seconds as the face wrap went viral.

It even reached the eyes of actor Anthony Hopkins, 87, who trolled the garment on his Instagram, wearing it and talking to camera as Hannibal Lecter. Skims has promised to restock ASAP.
