Labour delays vital review to fix social care

LABOUR has been slammed for breaking a promise to launch a review of the social care system.

The Casey Commission was supposed to start last month but the Government has been accused of “dragging its feet”.

Baroness Casey was due to meet with MPs of all parties in February to seek agreement ahead of her new body being set up.

Officials told Silver Voices the meeting had yet to take place but confirmed the commission would still be launched in April.

The campaign group’s director Dennis Reed said: “It is unbelievable, and frankly arrogant, for the Government not to honour its promises on the commission timetable.
