KEMI: BRITAIN BEING MUGGED IN ASYLUM CLAIMS MESS

UK 'world's softest touch' on illegal migrants and deporting criminals, blasts Tory leader
KEMI Badenoch has vowed to end asylum scandals, claiming: “Britain is being mugged.”
The Tory chief said the UK is becoming “the world’s softest touch”, adding: “Our country has lost control of the asylum system." She believes a broken legal system has also allowed sex offenders to avoid deportation, eco-fanatics to block roads and terrorists to walk free.
Mrs Badenoch said, once in power, Tories would end conflict-style "lawfare" activism, which is likely to mean leaving the European Convention on Human Rights.
Her major speech in London yesterday launched a fightback against Labour and Reform as her party languishes in third place in the polls.
She has appointed leading barrister Lord Wolfson, the Shadow Attorney General, and Helen Grant, Shadow Solicitor General, to lead a review into how the UK might leave the ECHR. The results will be announced at the party conference in October.
The UK joined the ECHR in 1951 and it is incorporated into UK law through the Human Rights Act, as well as enforced by the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
