Jealous stalker led a 'champagne lifestyle on lemonade budget'

A MAN who followed his ex-wife and bombarded her with calls has been convicted of stalking.

Anthony De Havilland, 54, instilled "a genuine sense of fear" in Simone Jackson, 33, after "tracking her movements".

He appeared to be a successful businessman who enjoyed all the "accoutrement of wealth" including a Ferrari, a Porsche, and luxury holidays abroad.

But his "champagne lifestyle" was built on a "lemonade budget" and he had been declared bankrupt three times and jailed for dishonesty offences.

De Havilland had followed Miss Jackson around Sandbanks in Dorset - an affluent peninsula popular with footballers and celebrities.

During their marriage he was a dominating and possessive husband to Miss Jackson at their home in Poole, a court heard.

The former Conservative councillor is said to have controlled his wife's finances and isolated her from friends and family.
