KEN Bruce, Davina McCall and Vicky McClure were just some of the famous names who sprinkled their stardust on King Charles's first Birthday Honours List

'It really means a great deal...Davina, Ken and Vicky are rewarded for their good works

However, all three are also well known for using their celebrity status and their own time to push good causes into the limelight.

The vast majority of people who receive honours are chosen by the Cabinet Office but the list's emphasis on charity work and volunteering is believed to reflect the King's desire to recognise good works.

TV host Davina, 55, who was made an MBE for services to broadcasting, said: "I can't believe it. It's a great honour and it really means a great deal." She shot to fame as launch presenter of Big Brother in 2000, but has since become a screen stalwart across all channels.

Impressive

As well as fronting the hit reality show for 10 years, she presented the weekly eviction spin-off and celebrity edition. After it was axed, she fronted ITV's weight loss show, The Biggest Loser.

But Davina is also known for her charity-boosting broadcasts, including Comic Relief's Red Nose Day and the Stand Up To Cancer telethon. Famous for her impressive toned figure, she has released a series of fitness videos.

She says her goal is to "encourage everyone in the UK to be healthier and more active whilst having fun, however little time they have".
