Snow enchanting for some but big chill brings chaos
IT was beginning to look a lot like Christmas yesterday as the first widespread snowfalls of the year brought an early taste of winter.
Flurries as far south as Sussex, Devon and parts of London created a winter wonderland — with temperatures to match - and there is more of the same expected today.
The reindeer of Scotland's Cairngorms National Park, the UK's only free-ranging herd, looked especially at home and stopped traffic negotiating the tricky conditions near Aviemore.
BLANKETING
But the Met Office has warned of further heavy snow.
Up to 10 inches could fall in some parts of the UK, threatening to cause havoc, particularly in the North.
