'I was evicted as I lay in hospital in a coma'

All possessions were lost but strangers raised £2,700

STRANGERS have raised thousands for a woman evicted from her home while in a coma.

Juliet Iswan was released from intensive care to find all of her possessions including £300 in cash, her passport and irreplaceable family jewellery - had gone.

She is now staying in social housing with nothing but a hospital bed and gowns.

Juliet, 43, was in Bristol Royal Infirmary from February 2023 after suffering from a stroke which put her into a coma for five weeks. She remained in ICU until January.

Before being rushed into hospital, Juliet had a home at the emergency housing accommodation Connolly & Callaghan, in Bristol, where she had been living for eight years.

But while Juliet was in a coma, all of her belongings were either sold or disposed of - and she can find no record of them.

But now a friend of the sickle cell sufferer has raised more than £2,700 and the sum is still growing.
