CAROLE Janet says she would rather die than face a freezing winter struggling to stay warm.
The widow, 86, fears the cruel decision to axe pensioners' vital £300 winter fuel payment will push her to the brink.
Wheelchair user Carole, of Christchurch, Bournemouth, said: "To be honest, I just think it would be better off if I died soon, then I would be out of it.
"I am absolutely serious. I feel completely let down. We have all been let down."
Labour wants to means-test the annual payment, which is a universal tax-free bonus that the party itself introduced in 1997.
