I feel very lucky as I'm too busy to ever be lonely
Daily Express
|November 30, 2023
STRICTLY record-breaker Angela Rippon claims to have found an antidote to loneliness as she enjoys the run-up to her 80th - which she plans to spend in Sin City.
The legendary TV presenter, who was the dance show's oldest contestant, has lived alone since her marriage to childhood sweetheart Christopher Dare ended in 1989.
She says spending time with family and friends, as well as being "too busy", keep loneliness at bay. But she has recommended a tech solution for those seeking solace in her age group.
With retirement off the table, Angela is returning to host BBC One's Rip Off Britain, after Blackpool this year's Strictly reaching Week in Come Dancing with dance partner Kai Widdrington, 28.
Speaking to the Daily Express, Angela, 79, admitted she was "very fortunate" to still be working full time, which allows her to spend most of her day in the company of like-minded people.
She said: "I'm so lucky because I have such a fabulous network of family and friends that I am never lonely.
"In fact, I quite value the time that I can have just to myself.
