Healthy daughter forced to use wheelchair by parents in five-year benefits scam

HEARTLESS parents who forced their healthy daughter to use a wheelchair and undergo years of medical tests in a desperate bid to claim a mobility car on benefits, have been convicted of child cruelty.

The girl was put through "unnecessary procedures" and missed out on a normal childhood.

It was part of her workshy mother and father's scam to obtain the vehicle and pocket disability payments.

The child endured bullying at school and serious psychological harm by being forced to use the wheelchair.

Hull Crown Court heard how the youngster suffered "far-reaching consequences" because of the fabricated illnesses. But when she was put into foster care at the age of 12 she made a "miraculous recovery". Her mother Louise Law, 50, admitted child cruelty minutes before her trial was due to start. She was jailed for six years and six months.
