HARRY: MY DAD WON'T SPEAK TO ME
Daily Express
|May 03, 2025
DESPERATE Prince Harry has pleaded for a reconciliation with King Charles, as he admitted: "I don't know how much longer my father has."
In a bombshell interview the Duke of Sussex revealed that his father, who is being treated for cancer, no longer speaks to him "because of the security stuff".
After losing his final appeal to maintain his right to taxpayer-funded police protection in the UK, Harry gave an extraordinary interview to the BBC from California, where he lives with wife Meghan and children Archie and Lilibet.
Disagreements
A visibly emotional Harry admitted that he has become an outcast from his own family since he stepped down as a working royal five years ago, and signed controversial multi-million-pound book and television deals.
He said: "There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family." But the prince added that while he has "forgiven" them, he does not expect family members to make peace after he released his tell-all memoir Spare in 2023. Harry said: "Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book.
"Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things.
"But you know, I would love reconciliation with my family. I've always said there's no point in continuing to fight any more.
"And I said, life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has. He won't speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile." But the duke added: "I can't see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point." Later, asked if a major issue in repairing relations with his family was the security situation, he said "100%", adding: "Whatever noise is being created, whatever stories have been written, this has always been the sticking point." Harry is understood to have last seen his father in February 2024, when he flew back to the UK after the King's cancer diagnosis was made public.
