Gymnastics coach given 18 years for sex assaults

A FORMER gymnastics coach has been jailed for 18 years for raping and assaulting two girls more than four decades ago.
Michael Haynes, 76, abused the 11 and 12-year-olds when they trained at Trafford School of Gymnastics during the 1980s and 1990s, a court heard.
He was investigated after one of the victims came forward to Greater Manchester Police in September 2020, a jury was told.
