Cash means little to Mariners boss as lavish United hit town

GRIMSBY head coach David Artell insists he is not jealous of Ruben Amorim’s huge spending power as the Mariners look to pull off a Carabao Cup giant-killing against Manchester United.

League Two Town host the three-time European champions at a sold-out Blundell Park tonight as the sides meet for the first time since 1948.

Grimsby’s last victory against United came the year before in a season that proved to be their final one in the top flight, the two clubs having gone in vastly opposite directions ever since.

Artell’s collection of free transfers and loans have made an unbeaten start to the campaign as they prepare to face winless United, who have splashed out more than £200million on a new forward line in the shape of Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha.
