Graham Thorpe took his own life after battling with depression family reveals

THE WIDOW of Graham Thorpe has vowed to launch a mental health foundation in his memory after revealing the cricket legend took his own life while struggling with anxiety and depression.
The dad-of-four, hailed as one of the greatest left-handed batsmen of his generation, died last week aged 55 after being hit by a train.
Now wife Amanda has released the heartbreaking news that the Surrey and England icon committed suicide, believing his family were "better off without him".
It was reported in May 2022 that twice-married Thorpe, who became a respected batting coach, was seriously ill. Amanda has confirmed that was due to an earlier attempt to take his own life.
