GIVE YOUR BRAIN A BREAK
Daily Express
|June 26, 2025
How can we give our grey matter the rest it needs? Dr Jebelli shares his advice - and a doctor's prescription never looked so enjoyable...
-

People who have a 30-minute nap every day have brains 15 cubic centimetres bigger than those who don't - and that means millions more neurones and synapses. Science shows that halfway through the day is the best time to nap but set an alarm to wake you. A longer nap is fine but you'll feel groggy after.
We need to get the message across to employers that this would help with the productivity of their workers and their bottom line. Napping also reduces the rate of ageing by up to six years.
TAKE A BREAK
We need far more breaks throughout our day. Every hour, I'll try to take a 10-15 minute break to look out of the window, stare into space or let my mind wander.
GO FOREST BATHING
I'll go for a short daily walk in local woodland, or in different squares or parks, and I run around local parks.
