Girl among nine killed by Ukraine flooding

A BUS and car lie partially submerged in a sinkhole after at least nine people including a child died when a rain storm triggered catastrophic flooding in the Ukrainian city of Odesa.

Five bodies found in a basement were identified as a girl of about eight, two men and two women, as some residents trapped in water suffered hypothermia.

The state emergency service said 362 people had been saved, with rescuers pulling passengers from stranded buses and towing vehicles out of deep floodwater.
