Girl, 10, suffocated by school trip mudslide

A LITTLE girl was suffocated after a mudslide carried her 20ft down a stream during a school trip, an inquest heard yesterday.
Tragic 10-year-old Leah Harrison was on an instructor-led walk at an outdoor activity centre when the mud slid down a bank and hit her.
The “kind and loving” Year 6 pupil, from Darlington, Co Durham, had been on a three-day trip along with other children from Mount Pleasant Primary School.
They were at the council-run Carlton Adventure Centre, on the edge of the North York Moors, when tragedy struck last year.
