Dr Jane rescued bear in year before death

Conservationist named it after her charity friend

DR Jane Goodall became the guardian of a rescued moon bear last year but died before she could announce it.

The trailblazing conservationist named the female Robinson in honour of close friend Jill Robinson, founder of the charity Animals Asia. Robinson was rescued by the charity after 15 brutal years in a cage in Vietnam and 12 at a bear bile farm. She now lives at an Animals Asia sanctuary in the Bach Ma National Park.
