Dedicated life to fight sex abuse

A HAUNTING photograph of a teenage Virginia Giuffre with Prince Andrew's arm around her slim waist, shows a pretty young girl smiling for the camera. The picture came to symbolise the sex abuse claims involving the disgraced royal and his former friend, financier Jeffrey Epstein, who is said to have taken the disturbing snap.

The troubled teenager had already endured a difficult childhood, marred by abuse, foster homes and running away to live on the streets at the age of 11.

Virginia Louise Roberts was born in Sacramento, California, but grew up in Florida, where her father Sky worked as a maintenance manager at the Mar-a-Lago property owned by Donald Trump.

After reuniting with her father at 14, he helped her get a job there as a locker room attendant, where she met British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, now serving 20 years in a US prison for the recruiting and sex trafficking of minors.
