|January 23, 2025
MORE than 1,000 migrants have crossed the Channel in small boats this year after 129 were picked up making the voyage on Tuesday, figures show.
Two dinghies were intercepted by Border Force vessels despite poor visibility. The people in the boats were brought into the Port of Dover in Kent after being taken on board Border Force catamarans in the middle of the Channel in separate incidents. The latest arrivals take the number for 2025 so far to 1,019 in 18 boats.
