Call for ISIS bride Begum to be sent back to UK

FORMER ISIS bride Shamima Begum should be repatriated to the UK, a major review of counterterrorism policy has declared.

Begum, from Bethnal Green, east London, went to Syria as a 15-year-old schoolgirl with two classmates in 2015 to join the extremists creating a warped Islamic caliphate.

Now 26, she has been held in al-Roj detention camp in northeast Syria after ISIS were defeated militarily by British and allied forces in 2019.
