ASHES royalty Ashley Giles is the King of Spain who scored the winning runs in the greatest Test series of all time.

Souvenir mugs in the Warwickshire club shop were unpatrolled territory at Trent Bridge to seal a three-wicket win against Australia and put England 2-1 up in the Ashes.

Ware had been spinning his web and, from the other end, Brett Lee’s 95mph rockets had threatened to leave Michael Vaughan’s men short of their 129 target until Giles and Matthew Hoggard’s defiance.

With victory secure, Giles strode off with his accomplice and said: “Tonight, Hog, we are kings.” Giles helped clinch the urn with a career-best 59 in the final Test at The Oval, with dashing centurion Kevin Pietersen describing their 109-run stand to take England safely over the horizon as “the coolest few hours of batting I’ve ever had in my career.”
