A BRITISH Second World War veteran and former accountant is now the world's oldest man, at the astonishing age of 111.

Great-grandfather John Tinniswood credits his remarkable longevity to a love of fish and chips on a Friday, along with doing "everything in moderation".
John takes the title in the wake of the recent deaths of Juan Vicente Perez from Venezuela at the age of 114 as
