Daily Express

IT looks to be the driest January on with leading in brewers low or drink sales as more drinkers try to go teetotal.

Heineken, the world's second-largest brewing company, told the Daily Express its managed pub estate "has seen almost a 50% increase in 'low and no' sales for the three weeks ending in January compared with last year".
It also revealed that the sales in licensed venues were made during the peak evening drinking times of between 6pm and 9pm.
Elsewhere, record reporting no-alcohol a surge the UK's largest dedicated no-alcohol brewer, Lucky Saint, said it was "on track for its best January with a record share as a percentage of total beer sales".
The rise comes after a recent survey of 2,230 people for the British Beer and Pub Association found one in 10 pub drinkers signed up for Dry January this year, with a third of those doing it for the first time.
Moderation
More older people also joined the younger generation in giving up booze for the first time too, said the trade body.
The same data also showed that 71% of people who consumed so-called "lo-no" products planned to continue drinking them once Dry January ended.
