Bayeux Tapestry should be renamed Canterbury Embroidery, says expert

THE Bayeux Tapestry should be the "Canterbury Embroidery" as it was likely made in Britain and not technically a tapestry, says a historian.

The artwork commemorating the Battle of Hastings in 1066 will be on loan to the British Museum next year with France in return receiving the famed Lewis chess pieces and Sutton Hoo treasures.

Dr David Musgrove, who has a PhD in medieval landscape archaeology, said we might finally be able to confirm whether the Bayeux Tapestry was created in the UK.
