Barbecues are back in October meat-wave

SUPERMARKETS rushed millions of sausages, burgers and chicken legs to stores yesterday for one of the latest barbecue weekends on record.
Forecasts for an unseasonal 27C this weekend have seen a surprise October scramble for barbecue food, along with ice creams and beers.
A rush is expected at stores this morning and early afternoon as the mini-heatwave hits and people head for picnics and get-togethers.
