Gary Lineker opens up on BBC suspension
GARY Lineker has said the way he was supported by colleagues amid his controversial suspension from the BBC was “beautiful”.
The outgoing Match Of The Day star, 64, was asked in a TV interview if the storm over the political comments he made online in 2023 was “blown out of all proportion” and he admitted he thought it had.
A row erupted after he posted that the language used by then Home Secretary Suella Braverman over the “stop the boats” asylum policy was “not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 1930s”.
He said: “It was a crazy week.
