TRIBUTES have been paid to a ‘proud’ dad and grandad who died at the scene of a crash outside a Cheshire school.

- BY DAVE KNAPPER

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, had been scrambled to Sandbach to reports of a collision between a black Lamborghini and a Red Vauxhall Viva.

Cheshire Police has named the driver of the Vauxhall who died at the scene as 86-year-old David Ward.

Investigating officers believe Mr Ward, of Winterley, suffered a medical episode at the time of the smash, and his death has been concluded as natural causes.

Now his grieving family have paid tribute to the ‘devoted’ husband and ‘loving’ grandad.
