BOOKINGS CANCELLED AS NEW OWNERS TAKE OVER

- By DANNY THOMPSON News Reporter

COUPLES set to get married at a picturesque hotel in Warwickshire say they have been left in the lurch after new owners took over.

The Coventry Telegraph has been told by multiple couples who planned to wed at Ardencote Hall they've been informed by new owners Barons Eden their bookings have been cancelled.

While it is understood couples are having deposits refunded to them, many will face extra costs to rearrange a new date and location, not to mention the expense of rearranging or moving bookings with suppliers.

Josh, who is due to get married in less than nine months, said: “My fiance and I booked Ardencote Manor for our wedding in roughly June last year.

“The big day was supposed to be May 2026. We had booked all of our suppliers, spent ages designing, making and sending invites, we even have relatives travelling from Australia to come to the wedding.

“I received a phone call on September 10 saying that the venue has been purchased by a hotel chain and they're doing refurbishments starting at the beginning of next year. Due to this they are cancelling all weddings next year.

“We now have less than a year to find a venue that's affordable and available which is very limited. They are going to refund our deposit and that’s it.”

But as well as needing a new venue and potentially new date, they also have to grapple with all the other plans made for their big day.
