Residents raise concerns over new homes plan

FEARS OVER EFFECT ON ROADS ARE BIGGEST ISSUE

THE impact on roads was the 'issue mentioned most' by locals about a giant 1,500 home development in Nuneaton.

It has been almost a year since proposals for a major development on Arbury Estate-owned land off Heath End Road were unveiled.

It is for one of the biggest developments in this part of Nuneaton in recent years. It would see 1,525 dwellings, a mixed use local centre including a possible hot food takeaway built on the Arbury estate owned land. The plans were officially submitted to the council earlier this year and have now appeared on the council website.

There are scores of documents attached to the proposal, including the results of a consultation launched by the developers, Richborough, earlier this year.

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) says that locals raised concerns about the impact of the huge development on what are already busy local roads.
