Reform leader backs plan to remove flags

THE Reform leader of Warwickshire County Council has explained why he has taken the decision to ban flags on lampposts ahead of Christmas.

Areas across the county have seen a sea of Union Jack and St George's flags tied to lampposts over recent months.

But the Bedworth-based Shire Hall leader, Councillor George Finch has said that they need to be removed ahead of the festive season.

In a video he has posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, as well as Facebook forums, he explained that he has taken the decision over ‘health and safety issues’.
