NORMAN Bassette has spoken publicly for the first time about the reasons behind his deadline-day departure from Coventry City.

The Sky Blues striker arrived at the CBS Arena just 12 months earlier as a late but exciting addition to Mark Robins’ squad - an unknown quantity plucked from the French second division, possessing rapid pace and an eye for goal.

It soon became apparent that he was, indeed, a raw talent with plenty of tools to whet the appetite, not least from his eye-catching performance against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup.
