LET’S not kid ourselves, Coventry City is a stepping stone for Frank Lampard who is destined for bigger and better things. And if we're honest, we knew that the day he was appointed.

Even Doug King remarked flippantly, “well, most managers don't last that long do they,” when asked by the Coventry Telegraph at the head coach's unveiling why he'd only been given a two-and-a-half year contract.

But the 47-year-old head coach isn’t ready to jump ship just yet. In fact, it could be argued that he’s so invested in the club and his players and the fans after his first ten-and-a-half months at the CBS Arena that a Premier League post - ultimately where he’s heading back to - couldn't be further from his mind right now.
