Expert says 'strong global demand' boosting Jaguar

A local automotive expert says the “strong global demand” for Jaguar Land Rover's luxury cars is one of the reasons the company has recorded positive earnings after the release of its latest financial report.

On Tuesday (May 13) the car giant revealed its financial results for the past three months, quarter four for the financial year, as well as results for the full financial year up to 31 March 2025.

The highlights include a record number of wholesales for its Defender range, with 115,404 units snapped up - an increase of 0.7 percent on last year, and a surge in wholesales of the Range Rover Sport - up a whopping 19.7 percent.

Looking forward, JLR is also benefitting from its still unreleased Range Rover Electric, which has a waiting list that has this year exceeded 61,000 - despite not even being ready yet.
