Epic victory as title-chasers repelled

BLAZE delivered one of their most impressive road performances of the Elite League regular season, beating title-chasing Sheffield Steelers 3-1 at the Sheffield Arena on Saturday night.

Coventry were boosted by the return of Canadian defenceman Connor Russell, while Mat Robson got the start in net opposite Sheffield's Matt Greenfield.
The visitors opened strongly and were unlucky not to take an early lead inside the first ten minutes, Greenfield standing tall despite sustained Blaze pressure. Robson looked equally assured at the other end, and although both sides had powerplay opportunities in the opening period, neither were able to break the deadlock.
