Bumper crowd sees Bards settle for draw after chances go begging

A CROWD of more than 1,600 were at Stratford Town's match with Stourbridge as part of the club's community Remembrance Day complete with bugler and the laying of wreaths.

The game finished 1-1 with the Bards guilty of missing a number of late chances that would have ended a four-game winless run.

Dan Lafferty handed Stratford the lead early in the second period with a fine left-footed strike but this was cancelled out by Aaron Bishop midway through the half.

Jack Storer twice went close in the dying moments for the home side before substitute Cyrus Bruce put a header wide with the goal at his mercy.
