Bedworth battle to avoid drop with massive boost

BEDWORTH United's battle to avoid the drop continued on Saturday as they stretched their unbeaten run to three games in NPL Division One Midlands.

The Greenbacks remain five points adrift at the foot of the table but their 1-1 draw with title-chasing Belper Town will be a massive boost.

Defender Elliot Parrott handed them a 19th minute opener and they held onto the lead until midway through the second half when James Tague levelled. Rugby Town climbed further away from the drop zone with a 1-0 win over Warwickshire neighbours Racing Club Warwick.

But they left it late, Jack Concannon with the 94th minute winner after he latched onto Geoffrey Lundoloki’s through ball.
