FIN Gough and Sioned Cray are childhood sweethearts from a small village in Carmarthenshire, who despite being just 19 and 20 years old have been on an adventure of a lifetime.

The pair left the rural Welsh countryside to take part in one of the most difficult challenges on TV, Race Across the World.

They are up against four other pairs racing from the Great Wall of China to the finishing line at the southernmost point of India.

We're three episodes into the season and so far the couple have been real competitors, having survived the first elimination.

When interviewing the pair, they didn't let on how they fared in the competition and in fact they enjoyed the suspense of nobody knowing if they won the race or not.

Sioned shared: "It’s fun to see the apprehension, like everyone around us, because no-one knows anything. It’s fun that nobody else knows anything and we've got this little secret."

Despite enjoying their time in China, they said the highlight of their trip was Nepal which they will progress to after the latest episode.

Sioned explained: "Before the race, Finn was always saying 'My dream country to go to is Nepal! So when we saw that..." Fin added: "On finding out we were going to Nepal, I think I jumped up and just started screaming. That was unbelievable."

The pair, who met on the school bus when they were in comprehensive school, explained how the race strengthened their relationship, as they overcame hurdles that they wouldn't normally face in their hometown while still living at home with their parents.

Fin said: "Obviously, there's a bit of bickering in some of them and it shows that it was a challenge for us, but it definitely has improved us as a couple."
