Golfer gives back to air ambulance

A COMPUTER software engineer from Llandovery says the critical care his father-in-law received at the family farm after falling 15ft was "instrumental in saving his life.

In 2020, 78-year-old Arwyn Williams was fixing a shed roof when he suffered catastrophic injuries. Richard Morgan, his son-in-law, a 53-year-old father of two, said: "Arwyn fell headfirst on to concrete and split his head open, but the injury which caused the most concern was to his neck. He broke three vertebrae.

"It was obvious he needed immediate help, and thankfully, the air ambulance arrived. I watched them looking after Arwyn; they showed incredible compassion, and just went straight into critical care mode, sorting him out."

The Wales Air Ambulance Charity relies on public donations to raise the £11.2m required every year to keep the service's helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.
