Traditional leader laid to rest after long illness

THE rural village of Guyuni Hamakuya and surrounding communities under the dynasty of the Makuya Tribal Council, is in mourning following the passing away of visionary traditional leader, Vhamusanda Khangala ruda mato Lalumbe (70), who among other things actively promoted the Vhavenda culture and tradition.

Lalumbe passed away on January 28 after a long illness, family spokesperson Ntevheleni Lalumbe confirmed.

Tributes continued to pour in after the chief's death, who loved his communities and unified his family and clan, he added.
