CLEANSING CEREMONY TO CURB DEADLY N1 CRASHES
Capricorn Review
|December 03, 2025
PASTORS from various denominations, representatives from the police, traffic officers, traditional leaders, Makhado Municipality officials and residents gathered along the N1 on November 28 for a healing and cleansing ceremony, seeking to reduce the high number of road accidents along this deadly stretch.
The ceremony took place at two spots where tragic accidents had occurred: one where 43 Zimbabwean and Malawian passengers died in a bus overturn near Ingwe two months ago, and another where 23 people lost their lives in Mabirimisa close to Mashovhela Lodge in 2023. The road was temporarily closed for almost 40 minutes during the prayer session.
